This Old Coat
First off, it’s green wool that’s managed to retain its luster.
Second, the left cuff had to be resewn by grandma when some of the stitching came out. The left breast pocket had seen more use than the right, yet the right one had a hole in it that grandma also fixed up. Still nobody knows how that happened.
The zipper has never broken, but when the jacket is unzipped, the clasp must be positioned three inches up from the bottom rung otherwise it makes an annoying clacking sound when walking.
It cost $10 back in the day. Now it’s worth $599, but its real value is priceless.
